  • Pace University Research Conference

    Dear Colleagues,

Welcome back, and best wishes for a terrific Spring 2026 semester!

As your plans for the semester continue to take shape, we invite you to consider submitting a proposal for the Spring Research Conference, The Human Experience: Research, Creative Work, and Interdisciplinary Dialogue, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, on the New York City campus

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, this year’s conference invites participants to explore how interdisciplinary dialogue, creative work, and research shape the contemporary human experience. The goal is to bring the Pace community together to examine how global perspectives and local action can unite to advance equity, sustainability, and the common good.

Proposal submissions are due by Friday, February 20, 2026.

We encourage you to submit a proposal addressing one or more of the following themes:

    • Collaboration and Community Engagement | Partnerships, community-based research, and collaborative practices that strengthen universities, local communities, and global networks.
    • Creativity and Pedagogy | Innovative teaching approaches, creative practice, and the role of imagination in shaping learning and knowledge-making.
    • Behavior, Health, and Society | Human behavior, well-being, public health, and the social, cultural, or structural factors that shape individual and collective outcomes.
    • Interdisciplinary Collaboration | Work that bridges multiple fields, integrate diverse methodologies, or develop new frameworks through cross-disciplinary dialogue.
    • Technology and Innovation | Technological advances, digital tools, and emerging innovations that expand possibilities for research, creation, and societal transformation.
    • Beyond the Tracks |  Proposals aligned with the conference theme but do not fit neatly within the other areas; submissions from all disciplines and methodological traditions are welcome.

This inclusive event welcomes scholars, artists, practitioners, and graduate students from all fields and at all career stages. Collaborative and interdisciplinary proposals are especially welcome.

     Proposal Types:

    1. Individual Presentations | 10-15 minutes (3-4 presentations will be grouped together to form 50-minute sessions).
    2. Panels | 3–4 presentations grouped around a common theme (50 minutes in total).
    3. Posters | Research or creative projects presented visually, with opportunities for discussion during a dedicated poster session.
    4. Creative Works | Performances, multimedia presentations, or exhibitions.

    Submission Requirements:

Please include the following in your proposal:

    • Title of presentation/panel/creative work.
    • Abstract (up to 250 words) explaining your topic, approach, and how it connects to the conference theme.

  • Sigma Board at the ANA- NY Convention

Three of our amazing Sigma board members Cindy Paradiso (Philanthropy Chair), Michelle Novominski (Vice President), and Catherine Finlayson (Secretary) attended the annual ANA-NY convention this past week!

Dr. Paradiso gave an amazing presentation addressing the lack of cannabis education in nursing curricula and its impact on patient care. She is also a member of the education committee of ANA-NY. Michelle Novominski attended the convention as a Future Nurse Leader Awardee and is a member of the Young Professionals Special Interest Group, which helps foster professional development, leadership, and camaraderie among the younger generations of ANA-NY members. Dr. Finlayson tabled with the Political Action Committee and helped raise funds to support state legislators and candidates seeking elected office who champion the nursing profession.

Our board is making a mark in the nursing world!

  • Join Our Sigma Board – Applications Now Open!

    Good evening Sigma members!

Serving on the board this past year has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my nursing journey. Now, we're looking for more leaders to join the board!

As the current Leadership Succession Committee Chair of Sigma Omega Delta, I can genuinely say that serving on the board has been one of the best experiences. It's given me the chance to grow as a leader and collaborate with peers. I helped organize the Heart Health Awareness event where 20+ students practiced Code Blue simulations, participated in skills stations, and heard presentations from two cardiac speakers. I helped conduct a Chipotle fundraiser for our chapter and started a social media account to connect with new members and boost engagement. Whether you're passionate about service, events, education, or advocacy, there's a role that can align with your interests and help shape the future of our chapter.
